good point. i've noticed some members here post links before to expensive vaping equipment and electronics. don't click on them links either.

in this new world, anyone can be paid to advertise products and give discount links. it's big business that shouldn't be trusted.

also corporations and their helpers are manipulative and like to make you think that investing in there products is an act of love or rebellion. they're one step ahead of the world and it's a load of sh*t.

correlating to this, instagram not too long ago posted a terms and conditions update, vividly saying that they use facial recognition software and that they sell instagram photos to third party corporations. you'd think that'd be enough for people to delete their account. people obviously quickly forgot about it. so if anyone's still on instagram, be aware when posting.

just like people have advertised here on wrongplanet, when i browsed Instagram temporarily, before i quickly got bored of it, companies would ask on photo posts for them to help them advertise their product for money and on two peoples accounts, people that went to my old school, two said in their bio "I am an advocate for [a clothes company]. Use my discount code [a discount code] to get half price."

so young people are being used and manipulated by corporations to sell their business.

Any first time poster posting any kind of link is probably a spammer.

And when it comes to a hyperlink in a signature you might end up opening a virus.

It's best to examine a new member's profile.  If you see a commercial link in their profile, and a similar one in their signature line, then you can be certain that the new member is a spammer.  The fact that these two items also match the new member's username is a dead giveaway of spammership.

Yeah, my first reaction was, "Aww..."

My second reaction was, "... s***!"

Ugh, a typical scammer attempting to lure us with that sugary message of supporting humanity and helping others heal. What a filthy lie. There is no justice left in the world.

I know many of us on the spectrum have been victimized because we were too naive and trusting, so it's better not to trust anyone. Especially on the internet.

"In G-d we trust; all others pay cash!"

-- A sign often seen on cash registers in bars, restaurants, and mom-and-pop stores throughout the midwest.

I am thankful that I have never been very trusting.

Would members please not reply to posts with blue spam links in the left hand bottom corner (example is the OP here).
This is part of the scam ring that has been attacking WP for a couple of years now. Instead report these posts immediately wherever and whenever you see them (as Ezra has done today with this one, thanks Ezra).

I will leave the post up for a while so that members can see in the OP what to look for.

Thanks for your vigilance in future.
