Hi,

I have been a long time lurker. I was recently diagnosed in October. Reading this forum lead to me to look for a formal diagnosis of my condition and I thank you guys. Getting diagnosed has allowed me to explain some of my behaviours in work and has made my life less stressful. I can now continue learning about myself :)

It's nice to meet you :bounce:

I think Ni Hao is “hello” in Cantonese.

Welcome to WrongPlanet.

Well, Ni Hao is the Hanyu pinyin for 你好. It is pronounced "nee hooow" in Mandarin, it is Nei Ho in Cantonese :D

Thanks.

Can you speak both dialects fluently?

Hahaha, I wish. I am interested in Mandarin and know a bit, it is a relatively new interest though. I have the first 1000 characters on my wall. :D

Do you find substantial differences between Cantonese and Mandarin?
