New person! Very excited to say hi and understand this site/culture. Hoping this will not be a painful experience.

Received a late ASD diagnosis, later CPTSD. Struggle with substances and eating. Don't know how to relate to people and I'm scared of everyone. I have been isolated for about 10 years except for appointments. I can be very good looking, and I rely on that and calculated posing/staggered youth culture referencing to assimilate but it's an uneasy fake. I can't see interpersonal drama or TV or memes without skepticism, and most people don't bother. It can be hard to feel valuable when looking hot and acting off balance is what people know you for.

Love my cat Lucy and animals generally. I wish I were great at growing plants so I could settle on that for a living, I have a BFA and everyone I've met who is talented and serious about art is really privileged and toxic. I take my work, my principles, and any anything I make/fix, very seriously.

I like singing, it helps emotionally and I like to imitate processed vocals as a game. Does anyone find the chest-feel of singing (or maybe heavy bass) helpful? Also, does anyone find upper-chest pressure helpful? I've never felt cool enough to do it but I think I'm going to try playing non-Sims video games today. I want to try having fun for the sake of it. I always feel like I have to produce or perform for some overlord and save my money for essentials.

It would be cool to make friends but I have a very hard time believing my input is wanted and I get scared of niceties. I'm hoping this post will help garner an impression of not being alone?

Thank you for reading!

Hi, welcome to the wrong planet.

You sound a lot like me, except that I only thought I had autism to then later find out I don't.
About games tho', you should really play more than just sims.
Do you like dc comics/marvel ?
There are some great games out there like spiderman, batman arkham knight, and more like doom (tho doom is not female friendly, It's very violent), or even god of war.
Are you playing on a console or pc?

We can be friends, send me a message, If you wanna.

Good evening and welcome to WP! :D

Only been consistently posting here for a 2-3 months myself: I like to think of us as a scattered tribe, others may have alternative thoughts on this

I suppose the best way to feel at home here is to get down to interacting: I haven’t explored all the forums, but I can say that the the thread “interview the person below you” is a good way to meet a variety of members.

Hope you enjoy settling in :D

Hi and a very warm welcome to you :)! Sounds like you've not had an easy time of it with substance and weight issues. CPTSD ... sorry to hear it. Hope you come to feel at ease here over time. Everyone has their share of issues, some moreso than others.

Singing definitely has a positive effect on me. Used to sing live on stage for many years in Australia. Music, piano, guitar, drums, improv, and composing/recording music is very much a part of my family. Can't imagine life without it! Animals ... I feel like I have a mini-zoo with 2 ragdoll kitties, a dog I rescued from the island of Crete a few years ago, and some indoor and outdoor fish. They make a massive difference, and great for stress relief.

Gaming(VR, console, PC) and a home-made arcade machine have been central to family/friend get togethers, almost as much as music. Good to have you with us.

Hello and welcome on WP! Hope you'll stay a bit here and don't take this site to serious just because some people here struggle with life. There are others here too. At least you may get a lot about how people are and also a little bit of support once you really need it. Hope that you'll have fun here!
