Greetings all,

After a good deal of sporadic lurking here over the past several years (for the opportunity for which I was and remain grateful), I've now officially registered, and feel morally obliged to provide some kind of introductory post. As this seems like the place to do that sort of thing, here it is: I'm a computer geek (gainfully employed), native English speaker living in Germany ("double your adrenaline, double your fun: perform every social interaction in a foreign language!"), married with two children, and just received my official diagnosis last week... although it wasn't really surprising (my son was diagnosed years ago), it still needs some digesting. So... retroactive thanks to all who posts and comments I've consumed on the sly, and of course to the heroic admins who keep things running. I appreciate it.

many happy returns &c

Welcome. I found your thread subject line to be humorous and it prompted me to want to read your thread.

Welcome to Wrong Planet :D. Your story sounds much like mine. I'm a married, employed engineer who came here and self-diagnosed after my daughter was diagnosed. However, I always knew I was ASD after reading about Asperger's while in college in the late 1970s.

Hi and a warm welcome to you :)! Liked your title! All the best with digesting your diagnosis ... acceptance, positivity and humour .... working with it and not against it, and knowing you are now “family” here makes me smile. Good to have you with us.
