Well, to start off, my name is Drew, and as you guessed it, I'm a newbie here.

I'm 20 years old, however, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at a very young age. (4, to be exact)
My parents weren't really surprised when they found out I was "different", so-to-speak. They knew that I had some difficulties in terms of social development and social interaction, but they weren't able to pinpoint their finger on what the cause of it was.

Anyway. More about me...

I'm a self-taught guitarist who has been playing for over 8 years, and I hope to one day use my talent to contribute to the world's vast array of music. ;)

I'm a fan of death metal and hardcore punk, and my favorite band is none other than Cannibal Corpse. I'm also a vegetarian, straight-edge, a Libertarian, and an atheist.

I decided to join this forum due to the increasing amount of stress that's filling my life when it comes to my disability, which includes me trying to find a stable job that I can at least keep for over 4 months.

Anyway, I just thought I'd say "hi" to everyone. If anyone wants to know more about me, feel free to ask.

Welcome! I dont know that I can really sympathize with the holding a job thing since I havent had to worry about that yet, and empathy is well not my forte.. I do not know much about your music but Id be glad to listen to some of your guitar playing if you ever record any to a format I can open on my computer.

Hiya and welcome! I hope you are able to glean a lot from the site and that you enjoy your time here. :)

If you don't mind my asking, what is it that your parents notice about you, when you were a very small child, that led them to think that you were "different"?

Glad you found WP. If you're having specific job issues, you can post them or scan the existing threads. This crowd is not very bashful about expressing opinions or sharing information.

Have fun.

I have a MySpace music page, which you can find here.

Well, as far as them noticing that I was "different", I was born 3 months premature as a baby, so that may have something to do with it, because I always was "slower" at learning most things compared to other infants, such as learning to walk, etc.

Plus, my mother also noticed that whenever my father would play piano when I was around a year old, I would literally drop what I was doing and go over to watch him play and try to imitate what he was playing.

Hi Drew. I don't think that aspies are "different", we are just have some difficulties with things really.

No, he is not!

He will make "The Price is Right" his own!

After all, Meredith Vieira is no Regis Philbin but look at how popular the syndicated daytime version of "Millionaire" is!
