Hi,
I think I either have mild AS or a mixture of AS and dyspraxia.
I have not been officially diagnosed - mostly because you need your parents to answer questions about your childhood & mine are in total denial - but I have been told I "probably have some type of developmental disorder". I had most of the AS symptoms as a child although I have learnt to hide many of them as an adult, but I still have tantrums when thwarted, stim a lot when on my own, and have difficulties being social for more than a short period of time or when I'm not in the mood.
I also hate the distractions of "working" in my open-plan office!
The only AS symptoms I don't have are being expressionless in voice/face and having a problem with understanding metaphors - in fact if anything I love to use them whenever I can! I also enjoy reading fiction (an escape from reality).
My nickname is because of the amount of money I spend on collecting weird stuff - mainly series of things like novels, textbooks and syllabuses (syllabi?) although I have now acquired a huge collection of identical M&S jumpers in every colour I can get hold of......
Some of my symptoms are more dyspraxic though, like being unable to do practical things and being ultra-sensitive to temperature (both hot & cold). I can dance though as my problems with co-ordination only apply from the waist up (I started dancing as a way of enjoying social occasions without having to talk to people!)
