Hello.

I'm currently on a waiting list for an autism diagnosis. I'm looking to make friends, as my social connectedness is low. I'm interesting in literature, philosophy, entomology, and gaming, amongst other things.

And if you are on a waiting list then perhaps you are in the UK like Mountain Goat? Apparently the waiting lists for Adult Autism Assessments are long in the UK.

Yes. Mental health provision in the UK seems to have a lower priority than other forms of healthcare, particularly since covid. Unfortunately, the principle seems to be to act once people are in crisis. But at the least the weather is good.

welcome , the waiting is the worst part! The search feature here will bring up lots of autism related discussions from the past, and if you ask questions on the forums there are bound to be good answers from people with lived experience of autism, good insights and ideas to help. Best wishes!
