Hi im 14 and i come from England. I have a brother with Aspergers. I have joined to meet new people that are in the same situation as me. I want to make new friends and talk about things.

Might want to pop over to the adolescent
section, and peek around. Most of the members
here are on the spectrum, but you might find
some good discussions and help in understanding.

Hi prettyinpink,

Nice to meet you. When did your brother get an official diagnosis? I am 45 years old now and I was officially diagnosed almost two years ago. People always thought I was a bit "funny" and then I visited a psychiatrist who thought it could be Asperger.

I have worked for years in the IT business where there are droves of people with strange behaviour (at least others consider them strange). Maybe I have already met a lot of Aspergers without even realising. Next month there will be a meeting for people with Asperger's syndrome (I don't like the word syndrome :-( ( ) where people have the chance to meet and talk. For those who look perfectly normal on the outside (no physical handicaps, spasms, crippled limbs, blind eyes and so on) but have their problem on the inside.

By the way: the avatar (picture in lower the left hand corner) I send with my message is not a self-portrait :-) .
