Hi, I'm Dibby, and I'm new here. So here's my little intro I guess.

A little bit about myself. I'm 18 years old, graduated from highschool recently (beginning of June). I can't recall exactly when I was diagnosed with Asperger's, but I think it was in 6th grade. At first, I was in denial about having AS, and plain out refused to acknowledge it. Over time, I've come to terms with myself. I also have little bits and pieces of other things, inherited from my parents (OCD, for example). I have severe depression and anxiety issues, and I'm also extremely shy. Somehow, I have a small group of friends that I talk to online (via IRC), despite all this.

For hobbies and interests, I like playing video games and being on the computer, primarily. My favorite type of video games is RPGs. I also like to read, and my favorite type of books is Sci-Fi. In terms of music, I like Alternative Rock and Japanese music. But more so the latter.

On a side note, I found this site in kind of a funny way. I looked up Asperger's Syndrome on Wikipedia, and was just scrolling down when this site's name stood out (it also seemed really familiar. That's because my Mom emailed me the link to this site a long time ago, but I disregarded it). I read a bit about it, and realized that I've never talked to anyone else with AS. I thought that it might be kinda beneficial to join, so here I am.

There's so much more I want to say, but I can't think of it all. Well, that's it I guess. Eheh.. Guess it turned out to be longer than intended, oh well. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm not terribly good at posting in forums, but I do a lot better in chatrooms.. maybe I'll check that out later?

Welcome aboard Dibby,I hope you like posting here.Chat room can get a little "rough" sometimes as it isnt well moderated(though there are some very nice people there).Personally it is to fast for me...I'm like that "old turtle lady" on the commercial for fast internet connection(Mrs Slowsky),I only process slowly and chat is fast(plus I am also a "Sudoko maniac" like her, lol)

Anyway,I'm glad you have become more open minded to AS.It sucks that so many kids dont want to except their AS because they are given the impression that it is "bad".It is just a different way of processing life(and some of the traits are better then the NT way,in my hummble opinion.)
