Awoke to a pretty sunny late morning in London. Love the sun but have decided to stay home for most of the day and catch up with some work otherwise I’ll become overwhelmed next week. Will go for a short walk later. Was out in Herts all-day yesterday, decided to start collecting wild flowers to press in a book.

If anyone knows how to go about pressing flowers and making them stick onto a page with destroying please advice. Would welcome receiving wild flowers from your neck of the woods, if you’re able to send. Please let me know.

About to immerse into a warm bubble bath while listening to some trippy lounge music high volume. It’s got to be all good. Will emerge as a Knight that I am, refreshed and ready to face another day. Am nocturnal so will be a long one still.

Must report trying to get assistance from professionals to cater for my AS is quite difficult. It would appear that there is a lack of funding and or prejudice against people that live with AS or similar conditions. As a highly sensitive person, (male) with an above Av IQ and considered a life line in helping others, it is quite frustrating to be ignored by GP’s and the like. Has anyone else experienced such difficulties?

I’d be interested in linking up with others who live with AS in order to compare behaviours, support, advise, share ideas and experiences and discuss outlook on life over a coffee whatever. Am based in London so if any individuals interested please let me know.

Steph

I was born in London... moved to MK when I was two but 1/4 of my relatives still live there.

hello,
We have some lovely wild flowers here on the mountain sides where I live in the Siskiyous Mountains of Oregon State in the States. Trillium and Lupine, ceanosis (deer thorn) and manzanita berries, too. If customs permit, I would be glad to send you some.

I allways use a waxed paper "envelope"around the flower and slip that in between the pages to press them.

your phrasing of 'living with AS' is interesting. Do you see the AS as something apart from yourself, like a tape worm, perhaps? Just curious.
and here in The States, there is no provision for adults with AS at all. You have to be helped long before you get to adult status. Once there, and no DX. . .you are on your own as far as the government is concerned.

all the best!

ahhh, bath. I believe you can press flowers in a very large book. Say, that old copy of war and peace will do. You merely get two pieces of parchment paper, lay down the flower of choice on top of the first sheet, then cover with the other sheet. press the book shut and leave it there for a few weeks. When you recover them, they will be nice and flat. the book is heavy enough to press without crushing them. it is also recommended to place a brick on top of the book. But that is just the small, unofficial way to go about it. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your bath.

Are you observing AS behavior or NT behavior around AS?

I am American, but I am fascinated by English runner Roger Bannister. I would like to go to the 2012 Olympics in London.

I live in central London (London Bridge) and am living with an Aspie. Where abouts do you live? Perhaps we could chat and then maybe meet up? How old are you? What are your interests?
