ANGRY: I had typed out a great intro, and my post got killed because of having URLs in there, and no way to go back and retrieve it (would have been nice to have kept it as a draft and told to edit).
I'm new to all this, and still learning (the Imposter syndrome is strong in this one), so bear with me as I get my feet under me.
TLDR: Hyper-intelligent Adult (40+M) with other diagnoses, recently getting ADD (2 years ago) diagnosis and treatment for ADD which lead to better controlling the symptoms, and lead to being comfortable enough and dropping just enough of the lifelong masks for my NEW current psych to put me through to an ASD specialist for diagnosis and treatment/coping strategies/training.
Relief with all of this is palpable - because it not only helps to explain things but as well as provides me with avenues to help deal with the struggles I've been masking all my life - and hopefully provides me with better tools and coping strategies. Watching videos, reading, and seeing myself in all of this as well as realizing there are other ways to deal with how I process things and what I go through on a regular basis - is absolutely amazing!
