I am not diagnosed with autism, but two years ago I had a clinical psychologist tell me I needed an assessment for it because I scored quite high on an initial assessment for it. I can't remember what it was called. Maybe AQ10?

The referral may not have been made by them or got lost in the process. My psychiatrist is chasing this up for me now as he feels I might have it too. This is so I can get the right support.

I was thinking of going private but it is not cheap.

Anyway, I wanted to say hello :)

According to the Internet: The AQ-10 Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ-10) is a quick questionnaire that primary care practitioners can use to see if a person should be referred for an autism assessment. It takes about 2-5 minutes to complete.

Hi Mountain Goat and Jimmy M. Yes it's a brief test, but the clinical psychologist spent a lot of time with me. And I have a 13 year history attending mental health services as I had a psychosis once in 2010 and later in 2020.

I joined this site after I was placed on a list to be assessed so I do not know if I am on the spectrum.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it worth the trip.

I'll note that you do not need a formal diagnosis to be on Wrong Planet. You can even visit Wrong Planet if you know for an absolute fact that you are not on the Autism Spectrum. A polite interest in the Autism Spectrum is sufficient.

Thank you Tim_Tex, Double Retired, and IsabellaLinton! :)
Mountain Goat same here. I hope I can get an assessment soon. I feel it would really help answer a lot of my questions.

Good luck!

My bride is not on the Spectrum but she is neurodiverse...and she joined WP but visits it infrequently.
Her ADHD keeps her too busy on the planet Earth. :-?
