There's a reason! AT LAST, A REASON!! !!

Now I can finally do something about it!! ! I'm thrilled! A little frightened that there's something "wrong" with me - but now I finally know what it is! Hallelujah!! No wonder my social and worklife has been a string of near-disasters!!

30 years of people thinking I'm just a weirdo.... well.... I prefer the term "unconventional". :)

Wow..... just .... wow. Hi everyone! Boy have I got some stories for YOU! Can't wait to hear yours!

Dear BlueMax-

I guess I'm on the late night welcoming committee at the moment, so-

Welcome!

I'm a recent arrival and have found this place to be quite wonderful.

As to your "lifetime of being a 'weirdo,'" please remember this:

YOUR LIFE ISN'T OVER YET!

30?

I bet you still have baby fat in your cheeks!

You'll have many, many more years to experience the thrills, adventures and agonies of being a weirdo.

So, don't worry about it.

As to being frightened that there's something "wrong" with you . . .

Well, I can't speak for you (I'm not a ventriloquist and I take it you're not a dummy), but I can speak for myself.

OF COURSE THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!

It's just that I'm less frequently frightened about it.

So, explore, exchange, and express yourself.

May you find the information, inspiration, and comfort you need.

And, a little good humor . . .

Well, it wouldn't hurt.

Alan

There is nothing 'wrong' with you. You are just 'different' and there is nothing wrong with that.

Welcome to WP, from a fellow 'different' person :D

Welcome, great discovery, I made it only a few months ago, everything changes, nothing changes.

Great here, but just a bunch of humans, some things cannot be shared.

It is great to have a name for it, but everyone has a different idea what it is.

Hello, you have something undefined.

Welcome anyway, it is a good playground.

So good it attracts a lot of non AS, bullies, loudmouths, looking for a cheap shot.

There are whole sections devoted to NT chit chat, trespassers in bands, claiming AS in the name of their god and AA.

No one else wants them, and they think we are unable to fight back.

They become your instant friend for life, then a few weeks later are being evicted, or their computer is dying, and they need money, and if you were really their friend...

On other sites they are gay, blind, christian, or do phone sex, whatever brings in the money.

Remember, there are lies, dame lies, and Internet Posts.

Others are seeking weak people they can get to cut or kill themselves, they are bored, no one likes them, they needed something to do.

Lots to learn, lots to ignore.

Well - it's good to have support.

Man... as if I didn't have enough to deal with.... my wife and I just temporarily-separated this morning. I just resigned my job (under pressure to do so).... my home is empty. The wife and kids are gone.... I'm just too hard to deal with.

Lately I've also been aggressive - which is why my dear wife is worried, and giving me some room to get the help I need.

Oh man.... I know it's just for a few months..... but my whole world has come apart.

I suppose this gives me the "great opportunity" to rebuild it the right way.... but I need serious help, which will take serious work.

Man.... have I ever got a lot of phone calls to make.

...wanna' know some real twisted irony? The town we moved to to take this (failed) job at the bank, is a big help-center for autism!! There's a lot of autistic kids here in town... I may get more help here than just about anywhere within a day's travel!

...and I've also noticed that most of the posters on this site are like me - very good writers and spellers! That's odd for an internet forum! Goes to show an interesting likeness in us, eh? :)

I am very sorry to hear you are struggling!
Take a deep breath! Relax! You are now hearing from an expert on temporary separation and permanent divorce. It is not fun, it is very scary, but it is also a chance to grow and get the help that you may need. Alone is hard at first, but it is also cathartic if you allow it to be.
I will leave it at that.

Dear BlueMax-

I'm sorry that you are suddenly in a storm of troubles.

Do whatever you can to stay calm and clear.

Try to not to get caught up in the storm.

Get a support network.

Eventually, you might view this as a turning point for the better.

I hope so.

My best wishes to you.

Be well.

I'm calm..... too calm. I'm just too stunned to function. Staring at walls and computer screens... I think I should go outside... it's been a few days.

I had/am having the same revelation. Yeah, the problems are still there but it is so liberating to KNOW, to have all of the missing pieces of all the stupid situations you couldn't fully figure out, for 36 years in my case. Thank goodness its common for Aspies to look young!

That stinks you have all of this coming down on you at the same time, and just after you found out about your AS. It probably doesn't seem like it, but everything for a reason, I think. You just don't know what could have come down the pike if everything stayed the same for you- this upheaval may be helping you avoid something worse, or bring about something better.

WOW!! Again, I thought that was just good genes... a small upswing considering my down-sides. Noone believes I'm in my 30's! As it is, it's almost a hindrance in that people don't take me seriously for my age... but then people might not take me seriously because I'm a "weirdo". :)

You know... there was a girl in my high school age group who talked in her sleep... it was a little mean, but people asked her question like "what do you think about [name]?"

My name came up with a single-word answer. "Weird."

Says it all, eh?

So, Aspies can concentrate on something a long time, eh? That would explain the 3+ hours of WrongPlanet reading I just did! Past bedtime.... but since I'm now unemployed [groan] I supposed I can sleep in for a change.

...I miss my kids so bad it hurts. Good thing I'm seeing the psychiatrist/counselor tomorrow! I think I need to do some under-the-table work part time just to keep my sanity.
