hello.

my name is dooni. I have had many diagnoses in my 40 years of life, but I only recently got evaluated for and diagnosed with ASD, moderate support needs(?).
to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about this. should it change how I view/treat myself?

I enjoy nature and animals. I watch movies more than TV shows, mostly horror. I play video games. I have a significant other who is "normal". right now I have 1 dog, 2 cats, 7 rats, and about 25 tiny fish. I have no immediate family except my partner, but I have 2 amazing best friends and 1 good close friend. we don't get to hang out in person but we text and game together. I'm not really sure what I should be writing and I feel like I'm rambling.

anyway, I've come here seeking I don't know what, but it seemed like a logical first step for the rest of my life.

hello.

I'd suggest reading up about the Autism Spectrum and then answer that question for yourself.

When I got my diagnosis I was delighted to understand myself better. And, it was really nice knowing that it wasn't my imagination, most people really are messed up!. But I was 64 and happily retired, my diagnosis hasn't had much practical benefit. I just kept on being me.

I have tried to get my medical practitioners to adjust what they do to adjust for my diagnosis but they don't seem interested.

However, one success! Whenever my bride bumps up against one of my Autistic traits I get to say:

"I have a doctor's note for that!"

I have autism too. I definitely don’t think you want to get to the right planet. The right planet is planet normie. Better to embrace abnormality.

doonipetuni, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

It sounds like you are in the right place. First things first, you are in the right place.
Second thing, There are many other people with this condition.
Hidden thing, Humans are a very complex being. This is because we have multiple brains. There are several different brains within us. Some exist on the left side of our skulls and others on the right side. Normally the left side is the dominant side. The right side normally only exist in our sleep state in REM and deep NREM sleep. But for some of us we experience a brain flip and our right side becomes the dominant side. It is a brain reversal. That is why you feel like you are living on the wrong planet.

Think of life as a very complex video game.
