Do you need a social app specifically designed for people on the spectrum?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I haven't get diagnosed, but I plan to do it. I think it will be a relief for me. I'm thinking about creating a social media app for people on the spectrum, cuz I feel like it's a little pressured to use social media like instagram, facebook and rednote where most users are not autistic. Let me know if you like or dislike this idea.

a little about me:
I like ice bear in We Bare Bears. That's why I go by Chloe lol.
I like drawing, mainly cartoon characters.
I like walking in nature.
I like music: John Lennon's imagine, Ryuichi Sakamoto's Merry Christma, Mr Lawrence, Joe Hisaishi’ Memory and some other music I knew from movies or shows.

I'm against it, "social" media are in my opinion failure from both technical (algorithms creating echo chambers, like/dislike voting systems) and ethical (severe invasion of privacy for profit, FUD / propaganda spread) standpoints. I find "social" media to be disintegrating rather doing the opposite. Also doing an "app" instead of normal website would make an unnecessary barrier for those who don't have specific platform.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it a good place to visit...which, I have, which...I guess...means I don't need a social app.

It's not clear to me that a special social app would even work for me. (a) I don't have a cell phone, my on-line stuff is via a desktop computer. A web page, like WP, works fine for me. (b) I'm Autistic...socializing isn't one of my strong points.

Regarding you...I hope you've found the AQ test. It would be a free and easy way for you to assess the likelihood that you were on the Autism Spectrum. It would be a shame for you to waste a few thousand dollars on an Adult Autism Assessment if your "difference" was something else.

But, in any event, Autistic or not, you are welcome to WP!
