Hi everyone,

Obviously, I'm new here. I'm a nineteen-year-old American female and in college, currently debating the merits of getting a professional writing major (Almost like journalism except without having to interview people - a definite plus) and singing the praises of my wonderful Japanese Professor. Erm. . . . I'm not really sure what else to say, but do feel free to ask questions. That way I can tell you about myself without wondering if I'm saying too much.

What are you studying in Japanese... the language, customs?

Do you mind saying what College you go to?

I'm thinking of trying out a degree in English or Writing. I'm doing computers at the moment.

You'll find loads of other college students you age here (I'm 47... never too old for school! ), so hopefully this place will be a great support group for you when no one else understands you around school.

I'm studying the Japanese language right now, but I'm considering minoring in International Studies (with a focus on east Asian studies), which means learning much more about the culture. I've already had one Japanese history class. ^^

Nah, I really don't mind. I go to the University of Oklahoma - not exactly a tiny school. I like the idea of the professional writing major because 1.) The no-interview thing 2.) No more math! (Math has never been my strength) and 3.) Of course, I adore writing. Doesn't matter what I'm writing - essays, stories, anything (with the exception of poetry - no matter how I try I simply can not write poetry or even make sense of most of it.)

I'm lucky enough that OU (I know it's backwards - no one has ever been able to tell me WHY we're backwards) has a good disability office that has had other Aspies come in - Ive never met them but just knowing that there are other Aspies somewhere on campus is reassuring. ^^ But, yes, it's going to be nice to be able to talk to people who know how I think.

Unfortunately, no - it's been a while since I've read/watched Rurouni Kenshin so, alas, I'm a bit out of practice. Too many other thoughts swimming around in my mind lately. :S Can you refresh my memory?

I had to cheat to figure it out and even then I only got it halfway. Sorry. :S But there are soooooooo many anime out there it doesn't really surprise me that I had to.
