I'm 47 and my mother was reading an article about aspergers in a nursing newsletter . She said "I think you have this (aspergers)"....Well, there you go. Maybe knowing this can be of some benefit ? Maybe some input would be helpful so feel free to offer any advice...thanks

Welcome to WrongPlanet Image
I myself am 48. I dx'd myself as being on the Autism Spectrum because I could not find much else that describes
me.

Welcome to WP :)

51 female here...tested in high numbers for
AS in online tests. Saw an interview with Dawn
Prince-Hughes after she wrote the book Songs
of the Gorilla Nation. That was when I first got
an inkling I might have it too. I found this site
last year. It's pretty fun here. Useful information
too.

I'm the janitor here....

Don't spit on the floors, pee on the seats, rub your boogers on the walls or hide them behind the doors, or anything else I have to do extra clean up for

Geez... you Aspies... why I remember 40 year ago when this place was nothing but ADD'ers... now THERE'S a bunch of boneheads if you ever saw one! :P

I take it your mother is a nurse?
My wife is a doctor and she used to jokingly say I had ADD.
Wasn't very funny to her after I got my two REAL diagnosis.

Welcome to the club.... and WHAT'S THAT ON YOUR SHOES... TAKE'EM OFF!

Told you... I'm the janitor... it was the only way I could join 8)

Where would I go on-line to test myself...I'm really not up for a visit to the doctor...To the Janitor
-actually I am the nurse. My Mom reads all the literature coming to the house. thanks so much

Ahh, you have my utmost respect.

That is something I think I could never do. I could understand it all, it's just that I don't want to be dispensing meds for folks while I worry about doing something wrong and killing them.
I have to watch my attention issues close enough already in the lab.
When I worked on the streets (not what you're thinking  no one would ever pay for my body  )... driving ambulances, everything seemed really mechanical, logical and I never had a big problem treating patients in that type of setting.

But having to do all the different jobs a nurse has to do AND concentrate on dosing out meds?

The world's a better place without me in a little white cap and nurse's dress. :P
