Hi. My name is Angela. I have a 9 year old son, Jarett, who has been diagnosed with Asperger's. I have not been diagnosed, but I believe that I also have Asperger's. We have 3 other children, Patrick, Zoe, and Jacob, who do not have Asperger's. Jarett is very interested in almost anything scientific. He loves to learn about bugs and animals (especially sea animals), and also loves to learn about dinosaurs and fossils. He actually enjoys receiving encyclopedia type books as gifts. He definitely makes our lives more interesting. His teachers also love learning about him and how he works. His teacher last year actually changed the grade she taught last year so she could move up with him! We have been very lucky in getting wonderful teachers who really embrace his differences.

Hi,

your son sounds great and so does the teacher. It's good that the teacher appreciates your son, its a shame that all teachers can not be like that.

Welcome to WP :)

Hello and welcome! I'm a definitely ADHD, maybe Aspie, mom of 4! :) My oldest (16) and youngest (13) sons have AS and my daughter has ADHD. She is being assessed for AS soon (I hope!) My middle son (14) has some AS traits but is mostly just acting like a teenage boy!

You have definitely found the right place by coming to WP. The support is tremendous!!
