Hello
I'm not sure if I'm in the right place but I took a couple of tests online (three times, each a month apart as a best-of-three kind of deal) and they both said repeatedly that I am likely to be an Aspie. (I also reported a grammatical error in one of them which wasn't remedied and was therefore extremely irritating - I guess that's an Aspie thing, too? ) Consequently, I found WP and have been lurking for a month or so.
I'm not sure what to do with the tests results and am feeling rather confused about it all. I do seem to share characteristics with people here and, reading the posts, I've been exclaiming 'Wow, I do that too' quite a lot. Looking back, I can also see definite correlations with events in my own childhood and those that you guys have reported here. However, I think I also have reasonable NT skills, even if they don't come totally naturally. But then again, maybe they're not as good as I think because I repeatedly scored 66/200 for NT. Yes, I am confused!
Right now, I don't know whether to go after a formal diagnosis or not. My current gut feeling is probably not as it won't change anything.
Anyway, perhaps of more interest, I'm 40 (how the hell did that happen!!) and managed to get out of rat-race employment a couple of years ago to set up my own business, which is going well so far. My lifelong obsessions are horses and dogs. I'm not particularly technologically gifted - I lean more towards the arts.
I'm looking forward to getting to know people here and being able to contribute usefully to the community.
