All my life I've felt an outcast in everything. Even groups I was a part of, I didn't feel as much a part of it as the others in the group. Although, from reading a few posts before joining, I think most of you know exactly where I'm coming from.
A while back I was interested in physics, but because of my troubles with staying in school I went to the library and studied from there, and of course there was plenty of information on Albert Eistein while I was looking. Now, I had never had a "hero", or "idol", or anything close before reading some of his quotes. He seemed to see things the way I did, and while I was on a tangent, looking him up, I stumbled across a rumor that he may have had asperger's... which is where I first heard the term. Sure enough... I look it up in wikipedia, and I find that there are many more people who think like me.
Its strange seeing people who think as I do. I've never experienced this before, and I think I'm going to like this site.
My favorite quote from my only hero:
"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." - Albert Einstein
