When I read 'This is also the place to say "Hi! I'm new" and start as a new member' in the synopsis for this forum, I thought the advice was only for those who felt it necessary, and just began posting in other forums. I've since read a post where it was implied that this is the first place everyone is expected to post.
So here I am, albeit slightly shop-soiled. Hello all.

My diagnosis setting on my profile is currently Not sure whether I have it or not. The indecisiveness stems from the fact that I don't display some 'major' AS symptoms in a noticeable way.

-My range of interests is not limited, and while it has been remarked that I give new topics of interest intense focus, the intensity level and duration of the focus seems to me to fall short of those described in Aspies.

-As far as I'm aware, my use of nonverbal communication isn't impaired. I've observed that I gesticulate far less than the average person, but that can hardly be called a symptom.

Despite this, I don't think it would be at all accurate to call me neurotypical. Hearing aspies describe how they veiw the world has always resonated with me. I came to this site and what I've so far read has strengthened this: my thought processes generally are the same or similar to those of diagnosed people that I've read here. I've also taken two online tests for AS. The first gave me a score of 31, and said that AS was evident in those scoring 32 and above. The second claimed me "very likely" to have the condition. It also plotted my results on a graph:

There is a marked right-sided bias here, but I have my doubts about just how definitive either test is for diagnosis purposes.

I actually never posted an introduction in this forum. :)

Whether you technically qualify as aspie or not, if you enjoy being here, you might as well stick around. We're glad to have you!

Hello. :)
I've never written an introduction, either. I lurked for awhile and slowly started posting when I saw an interesting topic or could offer pertinent advice.

Your description sounds like me, I don't have many extreme symptoms of AS.

I'm starting to think I don't have AS, just a very analytical yet disorganized mind with some extreme social Anxiety that I am working to correct... especially around the ladies.

But that's okay, I seem to fit in here... so I stay. Though my interest in the wrong planet comes and goes...

Don't worry too much about what is formally right around here... this place is quite casual. Despite the full paragraphs and overanalyzed topics... just around the corner folks are delving into the wonder of random non-sequitors.

I eventually did start an introductory thread, but only after I'd shot my mouth off in several other threads. :D

Welcome here, and have fun!

Hello QuietlyCrave,
Awsome username! Whether you posted an intro. or not doesn't matter. You're welcome anyway! Diagnosed? Not Diagnosed? Self diagnosed? Not sure? Who cares? Just relax, kick off your shoes, and stay a while.
