how do you feel when guests at your home start moving around and open drawers without asking your permission?
it makes me like going crazy, thinking about other's hands touching my things...and i don't know what to do, especially if "someone" is my husband's mother...

thanks

oh, THAT would stop immediately!

that has to stop! This woman can not come in and handle your things by going in your drawers
if there are no barriers this woman will OWN YOU, she already thinks she does.

Sit her down and have some tea and state clearly that is beyond what you are comfortable with.
even if nothing happens and she rummages through your things again at least you are not suffering in silence.

sheesh, some people!

Merle who knows a thing of two about inlaws

This makes me so mad!! !

I can't stand people looking through my things and touching my things. It's like they are analyzing what type of person I am by what kind of things I own.

I would just sit down with you mother in-law and say that you don't appreciate her looking through your things. Say what it makes you feel, such as what you said here, it makes you crazy and you don't like it.

I would handle it the same way, but wonder: can you get your husband in on the act? I don't mean have him join you in the conversation, or have him do it for you. I just mean make him aware that this is going on and how it makes you feel.

now it will escalate into how the husband is torn between the wife and the mother. It says in the marriage vows, to leave their family and cling to each other. This will be a true test of who the husband finds loyalty with. I don't envy THAT scenario.

PS not to demean the topic or the discussion, but does the title of this thread strike anyone else as unintentionally humorous?
