Aspies in Nice?

Hi, I live in Nice, France (but Im english). AS is really poorly understood in france, hence I have no diagnosis and cant find any support groups here, but would really like to meet someone else with AS - partly because I have few friends here.

I doubt you'll find many English-speaking WPers in France - the closest you'll come here is probably back home in the UK. May I ask why you are settled in Nice?

I am in Nice to do science (I am a developmental biologist and spend my time with fruiflies!). In fact my contract is coming to an end so I have to face another move, probably to Dresden in Germany. When I moved here I hoped it would be a time to start again and find friends (this was before I knew of AS), but it didnt work out well and after a long search I found two 'good' friends, only to lose them again. Well, Im hoping for a new start, but with a lot lowered expectations than before. My lab in the UK was full of eccentrics so I fitted in better than I have done here. The language problem didnt help either (although its not a problem now). I do love Nice though - slightly obsessively and I love being able to speak french, even though I dont speak that much.

Nice, France is a city I would like to visit one of these days--I have had a fascination with the French Riviera for years.
