Hello from an English Aspie

Hello my name is Kolin, I'm 21, live in england and I'm a second year university student studying Media Production (Film theory, filmmaking)

Last night in the early hours in the morning after about 9 bottles of beer and a couple of dvds I decided to hop on my pc and randomly look at AS on wikipedia, which refered me to this website.

I stayed in the chatroom for about an hour or so, just talking in a tipsy silly way to people (Sorry if you were talking to me last night ) and i also checked the forums

I was diagnosed when I was a toddler, when I was born my parents thought I was deaf because I didnt make good eye contact, I didnt in school and I'm not great at it now either. Since a young age I do have problems socially, I've never been good with girls and I wont stop talking and tend to bore my friends, but the ones who know I have AS take it with great understanding. Not everyone I know knows about my AS because I'm not fond of broadcasting it, because to some narrow minded people it's like saying 'Hey I'm a ret*d' when we all know it isnt. But don't get me wrong I'm not ashamed of my AS, it's a difference not a disability in my mind.

anyway I'm writing too much Hello Everyone! My main interests are films, filmmaking, antimated shows (simpsons, family guy, futurama south park, etc) and I'm an avid gamer who spends too many hours playing his pc and xbox360 especially now i've got a new 32 inch flat screen tv ^^

Its nice to someone with a positive attitude about having AS. I also agree with you about telling everyone about having AS, but its nice that you have friends that are understanding.

Can I ask you two,what subjects do you have at the moment? This new semster I'll have:

Developing Drama Productions (Script writing, working with actors)
World Cinemas (Genres and movements)
Documentry Studies (Self Explainitory)
and (My Favorite ) Digital effects editing (Blue/green screen work, superimposing)

First three I did last year but I used to have Sound Design instead of Digital effects
