My beautiful grandson, who I love more then anything, has recently been diaagnosed and I thank God. He will be six next month and I have suspected it since he was a toddler. He is "high functioning" with sovants. Not sure they are right on the money yet but they are getting there. The more knowledge we gain, the more we can help. He is a loving, wonderful child and can't wait to see where his road will take him.

Your grandson is lucky that he wasn't as unlucky as me. I was meant to be diagnosed with something back in 1996 when I was 4. But the person suspecting it went to live in Turky and we didn't get results. I was diagnosed with Asperger's in October this year! I could've got better help at school if I did get diagnosed with it when I was 4.

Hello nanat,

I have 3 sons - 9, 7 and 4. My 9 and 7 year olds have Asperger's.

Good on you for joining WP and being supportive of your grandson.

My Mum joined WP this year (she posts as NannaRob). There are other grandparents on WP too!

Welcome nanat,

The world is catching up, dealing with it is better than calling it something else, and we have been called some names.

Even the worst of us, me, still turn out in time, I am sure your grandson will with knowledge and understanding.
