hi tim, thanks! i guess one thing i am interested in is how you would describe what it is like to have asperger's. i have read a lot of the medical descriptions but i am more interested in hearing about it on a more personal level. how has having asperger's personally affected you both positively and negatively in terms of school, work, and/or your family?

thanks for the welcomes! i guess i will just go ahead and post some of the questions that i have...

1) how has having asperger's personally affected you both positively and negatively in terms of school, work, and/or your family?

2) are there particular strategies you use to overcome particular challenges associated with asperger's or with people's reactions to asperger's?

3) what would you like people who are not familiar with AS to know or understand?

4) what are some benefits of self-diagnosis as opposed to medical diagnosis? what influenced your decision?

Just a suggestion, but may be better to ask one and / or part question at a time, as to reply to above need to write a whole article...

Welcome,

It is like living in a fish bowl, perfectly normal, but strange creatures from the outside make distorted faces in the glass. They keep coming and staring, I ignore them. They think I should live outside of the fish bowl, and annoy other fish. It does not work for me.
