hi im a newbie and recently had my 8 yr old daughter diagnosed with aspergers, just thought id pop in here and see what else i can learn about it as its all new to me

Welcome to Wrong Planet! We have a lot of resources here that may help you, including a forum for parents. Several of our members are in the same position you are in, with loved ones with AS or other disorders on the spectrum.

Hello feeling_old,

An 8 year old daughter ....

I have 3 sons - my oldest 2 have been diagnosed with Asperger's. They are 9 and 7 (my youngest is 4).

I'm thinking we could start arranging marriage! :lol:

My older boys post regularly on WrongPlanet - AussieBoy and UbbyUbbyUbby. AussieBoy is a more regularly poster (he's the 9 year old). I'm sure he'd love to chat with your daughter.

Hi and welcome to the Aspie community, I was only diagnosed 6 months ago and I'm 48. One of my sons has now been diagnosed with NVL and the other who knows.

We are all unique individuals anyway and hopefully like me you will find answers on this forum and others...

For one, we will not notice.

If you say my daughter does such and such, someone might reply "How cute".

We live there, and never notice. When told the rest of the world does things different, we ask "Why?"

So keep an open mind.

I thought Aussieboy had a wife in Texas?
