Hey. I'm new here. My daughter has just been diagnosed with AS. After being misdiagnosed with ADHD for 6 years. I need all the help I can get!! !! !!

Don't worry, Aspergers isn't such a bad thing at all. Most people surveyed on WP have already said several times that they'd choose to keep it if they were given an opportunity to be cured.

Hi Justme71, things can only get easier now you know, as understanding and acceptance makes such a difference... I myself was diagnsoed with aspergers last year and other co morbid conditions, I also have ADHD often people have both. My older son has also since been diagnosed and to be honest its been all good and positive for both of us, we may be differently minded but those of us on the autism spectrum or as deserve and different as those that are not.

it's not all bad... the first thing you need to do is calm down... I know when other people are freaking out about my AS it makes me want to hide away.


it's good to have a correct diagnosis, i think add/adhd is way over diagnosed and too quick to be medicated for...


don't be put off by replies that seem short, rude, or bossy on here, or from your daughter for that matter, chances are that not the intent


what specifically do you need help with? have you tried asking her what she needs? she may not know, but it wouldn't hurt to ask

Are you saying that if some magic apsie fairly floated along and offered to take it all away and make you into an NT, you'd accept.
I know it's not possible (damn... just killed another fairy) but it's the answer to the concept that I'm interested in.
