I recently found out about this place from a mod on a forum about something I assume many of you are or were probably afraid of-fire alarms. http://community.schuminweb.comMy immature behavior in elementary school cost me the chance to make friends, and it seems too late now despite how much I have matured and come as close to "normal" as possible. Most of my classmates are nice to me, but I still can't honestly say that I have a single friend. My main interest is following Philadelphia pro sports teams, particularly the Eagles. I hope to find a career within the Philadelphia sports media when I graduate college. I expect this to be a great place for me to discuss my struggle for close friends and to get advice.

Welcome. I hope you like it here, and there are several areas on the forums to discuss problems (both with AS and problems that do not particularly apply to AS). Since you mentioned you were into sports, you might want to check out the "Games, Sports and Fitness" forum if you haven't already.

I think almost all of us were fairly unsocial in elementary school.

I'm a Giants fan myself, but you are welcome anyway. Yes, I think you'll find being pretty friendless and even bullied in grammar school and, perhaps, high school, is pretty common here.

I wasn't afraid of fire alarms, but of a lot of other things that no one else was. Still am sometimes.

I love the Eagles. I saw a lot of them in person once. They played at a charity basketball game that I went to. T.O. looks so huge in person. It was crazy. And I talked to Ike Reese. I know he's not with the team anymore, but he was really nice.

I also like that when I go to Eagles concerts(the band) people in the audience do an Eagles Cheer!

Eagles training camp is about fifteen minutes from my house (for Pennsylvania folk, i live in upper Bucks county, near Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton).

the rest of my family pretty much perseverates on pro sports, especially the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers, but it's not something that really interests me. i won't hold it against you, though.
