Hi everyone. I'm 26 and was diagnosed as AS when I was 13, so I guess I've spent half my life officially living with it now (weird!) I'm a dog handler who wants to be an animal control officer, a little obsessed with dogs I guess but I know a lot about them and I'm good with them. I'm also a writer who has published some short stories and a couple of poems and I'm working on a novel now; that's my real passion. And I guess I should mention this, but I feel like maybe I'm the only gay Aspie on here? I haven't seen any others but maybe I just haven't been reading long enough. I'm a girl (kind of- I'm really a tomboy). My partner doesn't have AS but she knows I do and she's very accepting and supportive.

welcome to WP.

I love dogs, too! They are so cool. I have a Rottweiler at home and people often mistake him for being vicious because of the stigma...when really, he is a big softie who loves cuddle up with me at night.
Ahh and I write poetry also . I haven't had anything published, although that is a long-term goal of mine.

I don't think you are the only gay Aspie on here. If I remember correctly there was a thread about gay Aspies a little while ago and there were a few who openly admitted to being gay.

It's good that you have an understanding partner .
