Hello, the name's Peaguy. I'm a 22 year-old male from Bristol, England, UK, who has been diagnosed with Asperger's since I was 13.

I currently don't have a job and my self-esteem isn't all that great right now, but I'm trying to deal with it by having sessions with a psychologist and going to a Pub Group for people with Asperger's.

I hope I meet some new friends here. :)

Hi Peaguy,

Wrongplanet is cool; hope you like it. I was diagnosed since I was 9, and I'm 16 right now.

Hello. :)

Yeah, I heard some good things about this community. My psychologist recommended me to visit here.

Welcome!

Wow! A "peaguy" joining Wrongplanet? This should be interesting?

May our mission remain the same regardless of national tragedies, constantly varied emotions and such. Why am I even saying this? Of course we'll make you feel welcome. Feel free to post whenever you have something significant to say.

Okay, I live in Washington, USA, I like to play the trombone, I'm a Christian (if you want to be specific about that, I'm from the Foursquare denomination, which is a lot like Baptist), I like drawing or pretty generally: the arts, I also like crosscountry running at my school, and I also like futbol/soccer (I usually play goalkeeper), I also want to become a teacher when I grow up. That's all I could think of the basics of me at the moment, or at least lots of my interests. Anyways, nice to meet you Peaman.

i'm in bristol too - north east, although spent a few years living in Bemmy (got out as soon as poss, though). moved from London in 1997, and am still wondering why. my profile tells you about as much as i divulge in public ;)

woss this pub group, then?

It's called the "Avon Asperger's Pub Group". The group meets on the second Tuesday of the month in a pub located within the City Centre from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. It was originally held at the Micawbers Ale House pub, but now the group meeting's moved to a different one (can't remember the name as I don't go out very often).

Check out the Contacting the Group page to find out where the next meeting is held from their website (if you're interested, that is): http://www.asapg.org.uk/

Nah, you didn't offend me. You're cool in my book. :)

The group is no longer at St Michael's Hill. It's been moved to a bar down by where the Bristol Watershed is(permanently, I think). The reason why it says the one at St Michael's Hill is because the website hasn't been updated yet.

I don't remember the bar's name, so I recommend that you contact the person in charge of the group, Beth Tarleton, either by email or by phone for more information. The contact details should be found on that website.

If you really want to socialise with people like us, then I say go for it. If you don't like it, at least you checked it out.

Sorry if I confused you there on my previous message in regards to the Pub Group information.

i'm am currently having a massive debate with myself as to whether i think it's a good idea. then i'll start the debate about going out. and then, one of the million reasons i'll come up with for not doing it...

sound familiar, anyone?

at least the watershed's easier to get to. :D

Sounds like you need to go to a dry cleaner: it will give you a good boost of steam... although you wanna be careful or they might also depress you... HAIR!:D
