Or rather, Hello, my name is Max.
I am in my 40's and was officially 'diagnosed' as an Aspie a couple of years ago.
In many ways it was a massive relief to find out that my 'condition' had a name, further reading I managed to identify many of the 'traits' that I have as being fairly classic. I lack social functionality mainly, but also am incredibly compulsive and not exactly patient - actually that is an understatement - I have 'negative patience' according to many. I certainly was not disappointed to find I was not 'normal', whatever that is.....
What else can I tell you ?
I am English, but live in California, I lead a fairly normal life, I ride motorcycles have a love of fast cars and I take a lot of photographs - which are compulsively catalogued and categorized and please do not disturb me while I am doing that !
Like many, I had a truly horrible childhood, I was somewhat over emotional, withdrawn, bullied terribly and lacking any real friends, I was able to withdraw to my own world for much of it. In school I would get A's for things I liked and 'Ungraded' for those subjects I hated - there was at that point, no middle ground, love or loath. Very much a loaner, very much comfortable only with my own company.
Anyway - after spending many, many months lurking, I figured I should say 'hello', so 'Hello'
I guess it is your turn now ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
