Not because of AS, but AD(H)D.

She's not allowed to say (as the condition can't be diagnosed by a psychologist) I have it, but told me she is already willing to write me a statement I can use*. I have not (yet?) brought up the possibility of AS, but the short book she gave me to read did briefly go through certain conditions associated with an attention deficit, including Asperger's, so I think she's atleast somewhat aware of it. I think I'll wait and see if she notices anything from my own words and stories herself. That could be more reliable than just spitting it out.

I'm actually enjoying our meetings. All the AD(H)D theory we've been going through has been fascinating and being a test freak, I'm looking forward to the intelligence test next time we meet. It comprises of different areas like mathematical and verbal 'intelligence' and is to see if I have any noticeable variation. I agreed to take it, mainly because I find that kind of things fun.

*And I indeed should be able to in these certain exams. I have problems writing essays and compositions by hand so I might get a permission to use a computer.

It sounds like it would be good to slowly ease AS into the conversation at a later date especially if you don't have a close friend or relative who can vouch for your childhood Aspie behaviors. You might want to slowly feed your psych childhood stories of being bullied, not comprehending what you were told, sensitivities to lights, foods, textures, stimming, that sort of thing so you have a case you have built up to prove AS. Its really hard to get a diagnosis these days for AS because as my neuropsych told me its the "popular" diagnosis at the moment and she has had tons of people coming in trying to get it. See said its just like ADHD was popular a few years back and bi-polar before that. So that makes psychs resistant NOW to the diagnosis of AS since they "think" everyone is trying to get it.

Good luck in your psych treatment and diagnosis. I'm also going through psych therapy.

I'm going to bring up OCD traits and sensitivities up in the next meeting too. It's not that I'm still even personally sure of if I have AS so I think I should bring up the traits and see how they actually build up.

Use caution when bringing up OCD traits if its repeatative in nature as you might get stuck with strictly an OCD diagnosis. Psychs like to give those out a lot. Mention things like light sensitivity, not liking being touched or foods touching. Mention any stimming or handflapping as that is one of the main symptoms for autism. Also share with her the times you may have been misunderstood because of your facial expressions or using wrong words (or not responding at all).

If you want to talk about it feel free to PM me. I have gone through the 6 hours of diagnostic tests and am seeing a psych and a OT right now.

My OCD is mainly having to repeat certain an action a certain amount of times and after touching something with my hand, having to touch it with my other one too the same way to keep somekind of a balance. I'm actually thinking of bringing up a question of is OCD in any way connected to AD(H)D.

We've been going through some sensitivities already, but I'm planning on bringing up the case what happened yesterday. I was in an exhibitian and, as to be expected, there were lots of people. The moment I got away, I felt so exhausted by all the stimuli that I fell asleep for 14 hours until my mother woke me up. My guess is that I would've slept for atleast 18 hours. I also have a problem with certain kinds of touching.

Always had those two, ever since I remember. My stimming as in rocking has slightly reduced, but hand flapping has increased. Will try to remember to sneak the two in. Maybe I should also include walking on my toes.

Facial expressions and not responding were big ones when I was little. Nowadays it's more the case with being misunderstood, and still somewhat with not responding (or being thought not having responded).

PMing in general feels slightly weird for me, but I'll do if I come up with any certain questions. The biggest problem is probably my parents not at all liking the idea of a possibility of me having AS. I'm not feeling comfortable of bringing it up to them again so it'd be hard to get them to be interviewed by the psychologist. Attention deficit, however, isn't as "bad" so I could maybe use that one. Still, I've always kept them outside my personal world. The only thing they know is me being a child enjoying solitude and being found slightly weird.

Thank you very much.

I brought up the OCD traits, but we concentrated on the intelligence test this time. We completed half of it in this meeting.

I'm actually quite satisfied with my results;
Large vocabulary (though I'm somewhat questioning this part)
Near full score in both visual tests (23/25 in the other, not completely sure about the other)
Exceptional in processing time
Exceptional in the mathematical test (she told it was the best in her career)

They're to be used by this one person at our school whom I'm contacting through the psychologist concerning methods of studying. I wonder how they can be used in my case? My main problems are lack of motivation and excessive procrastination.
