Oh no not another new member

HI all...

I've not been diagnosed, and I'm not sure about my 'status', but there's many things running as a common thread here,

clumsiness... and that's not just because I'm left-handed.

Obsessing - now this is weird but even my grandad called me a 'little professor'. I was reading university books at age 12... ho hum And spending ages reading dictionaries, and about car number plates - age 6 - no longer an obsession of mine *grin*. Except number-systems and that sort of thing... I'm full of loads of trivia on obscure stuff.

Socially - no eye contact - I just find it invasive on me... also I find myself boring the socks of people all the time...

and finally literalism - yup - someone usually has to say 'joke!' for me to get it, so I get lots of leg-pulling about it.... I'm not slow though, academically I'm supposed to be in the top few percent (university etc etc), I write music and have taken up painting recently - and that involved buying heaps of books and learning all the theory before I'd get any paint at all...

Mostly I read non-fiction. books on science and music theory cover it pretty much..

better stop, but I could go on...

Welcome equiton, some of the stuff you've said sounds like what I still go through. That's my main hobby is reading books and going through a dictionary for a new word that appeals to me. I was just diagnosed with it only 2 years ago. Never knew much about it till I found this website.
