Anyone else have a .txt file that they just pull up and copy out and paste into the board. im not good for thinking of things so i use a "canned" introudcution... any one else use a "canned" introduction.

an intro in a can is something that you have pre made ready to go and just copy and paste...

I have enough things to worry about when I meet someone (trying not to come off as the strange serial-killer type), so I don't really try to be too original.

Why post if you have nothing to say? Sometimes there isn't much to say I admit, but even then I like to type in w-e-l-c-o-m-e myself.
I appreciated all the posts to my own introduction, even the canned ones. But I would ofcourse rather have had people look at my introduction and tell me what was on their mind.

No. Not exempt. Just tolerated, for most people. Where they simply welcome the new member.

In your case, I may well decide to impose the rule, as you seldom seem to take much notice of the new member's post, and instead post about yourself.

I don't use a canned introduction, although it is possible that I've been 'canned' when I was writing one or more!

It probably all boils down to how many introductions you find yourself writing.

Or, it might be nice to have a introduction template for WP, that might have some suggestions for content for an introduction; interests, for example. 'Icebreakers' could be another: 'What was the most interesting thing you have done?', that sort of thing.

I've never used that. I've been on forums so much over the past six or seven years that I've gotten used to introducing myself on them. I'm also a rather social being, and will introduce myself to many people who I meet day to day. Odd for an Aspie, I know... but I like to talk.
