Hey, I'm Dave. I was diagnosed with Asperger's around Grade 7 or 8. I'm into nerdy stuff like D&D and World of Warcraft, hanging out with friends, game development and cartoons and animation, and I am studying 3D animation at college. I am now in my third year of college, (second at the paticular school I'm at, second living away from home) and I'm a little bit miserable socially.

I don't think anyone I know has Asperger's. I'm not even sure if I have met anyone else who has it. But I really want to be able to talk to people who have had at least at one point, the same sorts of troubles I do.

Anyways, I look forward to have discussions with you all. :D

Hi, welcome, Dave.
You may get to know people through WrongPlanet that you will later meet in real life. It happens and is quite common here.
Where are you from?
Anyways, you'll love it here, I'm sure.

Hi Daviuos.

Welcome to wrong planet.

My son was dx'ed in sixth grade, last year. That's the first year of middle school here. His advocate said that it not ususual to have trouble in thouse years. I'm hoping high school or college is better because middle school is not going well.

I look forward to reading more of your post.

Hey BeeBee, thanks for the welcome.

For me, Grade 8 till about Grade 10 were the years I found hardest. Insulting peers and a lack of friends made me feel really bad, and I had really awful grades. My parents were often worried about me. However, around Grade 11 (about halfway through high school at this point) my grades and spirits took flight, and I started to really be happy. Its still sometimes rough being an aspie, no doubt, but each year I feel a little bit better about myself, and I know I have great strengths and qualities.

I wish the very best for you and your son, and I look forward to your posts as well.

Davius
