Last July, after insulting my wife (again) with my inappropriate comments; I heard an interview with Tim Page ("Parallel Play: Why I was strange") on NPR. I diagnosed myself as an Aspie. In 73 years, I had known several autistic children, but had never heard the term "Asperger's" and had never imagined that the term "autism" could possibly apply to me. But using the diagnosis to review my life, everything fits. Even this late in life, I think that the diagnosis will be useful to me. I have done a pretty good job of pretending to be neurotypical; but seeing the syndrome allows me to be more aware of my behavior and of what I have to watch our for in relating to other people. But I need all the help I can get!

Welcome to WrongPlanet Bobby1933 (What does the number mean? At first I figured it was your birthyear, but it doesn't match that you say you are 73. A detail I know, but I have a tendency to get stuck on details.)

Don't forget to check out the ex dino cafe in this forum. It's for the over 40's or those who are feeling creaky.
