My name is Jesse Shade. I've been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome since I was 8 years old. I never really knew about since I was 11 years old. Ever since that, I've really come a long way in terms of social interaction and understanding. But my emotions are still explosive, and I'm nearly 18 years old. So I'm joining this forum to interact with others that have the same issues and what progress they've made.

A bit about myself:

I've been in the school's drama club since 9th grade. I've acted in all 4 plays and did stage crew for 3 of the musicals.

I'm a huge movie buff and MST3K fan.

I hate high school.

Bonjour Jesse,

Don't worry too much about the social interaction, it comes, sort of, over time. I can comfortably hold conversations with strangers for at least five minutes now before they realise I'm barking!

The thing I realise looking at the posts here is that being an Aspie isn't an illness it is a difference. I'd hate to be "normal". Most "normal" people seem to live in such a limited world and can never see beyond the end of their nose and they don't see the mystery, wonder and beauty in the world to the extent that we do. So don't try to measure, compare or rate yourself compared to the "normals".
