Hello, I found this forum looking for aspie information and well, here I am, I think it's a good web and forum.
I'm not aspie, but I think my boyfriend is, and well it's just that I think he is, not that he has a pronostic (or however it's called in english...I'm spanish that's why I may commit a few mistakes when speaking hehehe)
I know there's no problem about being aspie, but I think he may feel like sad or refused from me if I told him that I think he is cos he's a very insecure person...so I dont know what to do. I think it's good for him to know and find out, cos he was getting a bit sad lately looking for a job and well, maybe he feels better if he sees he's not alone.

Well, hope to get some advice and have fun here :P

bye bye!!

Yeah well I'm American and will probably make more English mistakes then you will. I understood what you wrote just fine.

It was very pleasant to find WP even more to take some of the on-line tests.
It was like a major AHA!! moment. My life suddenly feel into place.
I could understand so much better why I did what I did.
And I learned through WP how better to explain things to my wife.
It is easier to do when you understand it a bit better yourself.

There are some truly amazing people here.
I, for one, am always pleased to see those that aren't aspie to try to see from our perspective.
And as others have already said, no reason he can't come pay us a visit as well.
There are a lot of us that have and are going through what he is, it can be a very daunting task.

"Well, hope to get some advice and have fun here."

Fun isn't my middle name, but it could be, on my good days.
I have an opinion about everything and if I don't, give me a minute and I will.
Welcome to WP.

Hi Drooga,

welcome to WP.

There is always that risk of making someone sad if you tell them something that they don't want to hear. Although, your boyfriend may benefit from you telling him that you think he has Aspergers. It might come as a relief to him.
Just beware, though, that peoples initial reactions vary and you can never predict them.

It's great that you are here and trying to learn more about Aspergers.

I hope you enjoy posting here.

hi, thank you so much for ur replies...it encourages me to tell him but I still feel so insecure! I don't know how to start it to not mkae him get sad(he won't get angry at me, Im sure, but he may get insecure about what I feel for him, though actually I know nothing would change in my feelings for him and my completely respect and understanding to him).
so...now what I would like to ask you all to suggest me is how should I start to ask him hehe

PS: I didn't know I would get answers so quickly! thanks so much :D

Hi to both digger1 and Kaleido

That picture is from the new version of "Invasion of The Body Snatchers" starring Donald Sutherland in 1979.
By the way.....

more news!

I asked my bf if he finds it difficult to know if I'm upset or sad or happy by my face expressions and he said that he understands me very well...hmmm
but he actually asks me a lot of times if I'm upset when I don't look upset at all or there's no reason to be upset. and everything he does is just like the AS description!
hhmmm I'll think more about it
and yes, I'll annoy u all asking more questions! :P just joking

I read most face expressions very well. I can miss other social cues, very easily, depends on if I'm paying attention. There are those of us that enjoy, "people watching". My Dad (aspie) liked to watch birds. Not me, people are way more interesting. For all of the characters traits one might see on a spectrum list, all of us won't be the same. There is no mold here. I can tell how my wife is just by listening to her feet move across a floor.
