Hi,

I just went through a night of online revelations and chain-reactions if you will that lead me to Wrong Planet from a link at wikipedia. For the last year and a half or two years, I have been seriously contemplating the idea that I have Asperger's and so do certain family members and relatives. Now, the next step is finally to speak to a doctor and get an official diagnosis so maybe I can find some effective solutions to some neurobiological symptoms that I have been having, including sleep problems, mood issues and other stuff. I also tried to socialize in the last few years but for the most part, it was a let down. I even felt used and betrayed at times. I did make some online friends, one of whom I even met in real life. However, it is disconcerting that I can't form relationships in real life too well. I need to work on this area but my intellectual and perceptual differences, which range in the highly gifted category, tend to make it difficult for others to relate to me or accept me as "normal" or "average," neither of which I am. Social isolation has been a cause of depression and major depression in the recent past. I just need to find people who understand and whom I might get to know as real life friends, too. I will write more later. I have to head to bed.
