Hello...I thought I'd introduce myself as a new member on the site. I have not been formally diagnosed with Asperger's, and don't have any plans for a diagnosis in the near future, but I am aware that I have always been a highly unusual and eccentric individual, completely without meaning to be, who has always had trouble in social situations and who becomes fixated with particular objects or topics.

Some of the quirks peculiar to me include:

- not being able to leave the house without my bedcovers being straight

- saying really inappropriate/peculiar/offensive things, if anything at all in group social situations, which I try to avoid at all costs

- having an irrational phobia of sandwiches, even though I can eat most of the ingredients therein separately

- getting rather exasperated if I am going to be late for anything, even if it is only five minutes’ late

- singing rather well, but rather noisily, to myself, even in public places

- being an utter klutz, always dropping things, getting lost in my own neighbourhood and not being able to walk in a straight line in high heels

- having an obsession with Tony the Tiger of Frosties fame, to the point where I honestly believe I am his mother, and when I'm at home I sit and cuddle up with him and a book. Raaawr!

If anyone else has an obsession with cuddly toys, please tell me all about it!

I read:

And thought:

"Maybe aspies ARE the next step in human evolution! I can't walk in a pair of heels AT ALL!

I hate heels. It's been just this year I learned that all those women wearing heels are not in excruciating pain as I had assumed. I'm 55.
