Just wondering because I itch constantly when I am near or see a spider.

Not at all. Spiders kill flies and mosquitos, so I don't mind having one in my house, as long the spider or its web doesn't get on my skin.

Only if those ugly whitish house spiders (ugh!) are crawling near me or if other spiders crawl on me. We have a California garden spider in our front yard right now and it's really beautiful. :D

I'm, only afraid of black widows. There's been some weird looking ones with white stries on their back around here lately. Is there any possibility they may have cross bred with another type of spider?

I don't mind spiders as long as they stay outside so they do what spiders do. If though they come in my apartment they don't say very long alive or dead.

I would like to remind everyone that, according to philosopher Peter Singer, coming from Jeremy Bentham's utilitarianism (consequentialism), the taking of an animal's life is wrong and immoral. Would you kill another human being? Then why kill a spider?

Did I say I killed them. I just don't like them in my apartment. They can stay outside were they belong.

Spiders & insects scare me. How they look, how they sound, how they feel-totally freaks me out, doesn't matter how great bugs may be, they all push me into terror threat mode/orange alert...Facts pale in comparison to how threatened I feel around such creatures. Don't like harming them, just require them to stay out of my path.

It's just that your "dead or alive" ultimatum sounded very gung-ho, very cowboy, very George W. Bush. The question of the spider's right to life is not so simple as just removing them in the most convenient way. Care must always be taken to ensure that the spider (or fly, gnat, or flea) does not suffer unnecessarily.

NeantHumain for You

I have to say some spiders may have died some may have lived if they found themselves in my apartment. When they have died they where given a 21 gun salute with 4 ruffles and flourishes. If that makes me sound gung-ho, cowboy, George W. Bush alike OOOOOHHHHH WWWEEELLLLLL.

I hope this answers it.

OK

I HATE spiders and I am afraid of them; and, like what some other's have already said, I'm scared of some more than others. I don't like spiders in the house because they can crawl on you in your sleep and bite you. I wouldn't want to take a chance if that spider was a poisonous spider or not; besides, who wants to be hospitalized for having been poisoned by a deadly spider?
