Hi to everybody.

First, sorry about my not-so-good english, and know that I'm happy to be here.

I have 36 years old and, for all my life, I had a lot of mental problems. Most of the time I was lonely, or with one/two friends, suffered with hostility in the school/work/street/home, had only one strange relation with a girl much younger than me, that lasted 10 days (with 3 sexual relations) and nothing much more.

Since I discovered about AS, and realize that I have more than 95% of symptoms, and a life history that match of what happens with lot of Aspies, I was searching for information and a diagnosis, without any success, since I'm a poor guy living in a poor country, where even professionals don't know too much about it.

After months of research and, after trying to get some professional help, I'm inclined to assume my self-diagnostic. The level of misinformation here is huge, even amongst psychiatrists or health people, plus the stupid way that the press talk about Asperger (it's not autism, but a cool thing), is making me sick and tired.

And that's why I'm here, to discuss the implications of this option with you. There is no problem for me to hear any frank comment, so I can measure if my decision is right or wrong.

You're in Brazil and can't keep a girlfriend? Yikes! If you can't get a girlfriend in Brazil, you can't get one anywhere. I even advise people on this forum to learn Portuguese because even an Autie (or Aspie) gets a girl in Brazil. I truly feel sorry for you! Where in Brazil are you from? The most "target rich" area of Brazil is the North/Northeast.

Estou em São Paulo capital. No Nordeste é mais fácil mesmo, tanto que foi lá que eu consegui ter meu único relacionamento na vida.

Mas achar que mesmo lá é fácil qualquer um conseguir namorada não é certo. Depende muito do seu nível de comprometimento.




I'm living in São Paulo, southeast of the country. In the North/Northeast is really more easy to find a girl and get sex, since was there that I manage to have my first, and only, intimate/sexual relation. But, even there, is not so easy for people like us (aspies or not) to do this type of thing, depending of the degree of your symptoms.
