Hello everyone. My name is Bryce Eason and I'm 19. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome back in 11th grade when my english teacher suggested to my parents I might have it. I'm doing ok with it, but I stuggle in college and I'm not able to find a job. I am seeking a support forum to hopefully find a job in the computer industry where I have tons of self-taught knowledge.

hi im Bradleigh, im 17 and in uni, i have thought about the time when i will have to get a job i have felt like i would be totaly unable to even aply for a job. to me learning always felt easier.

I'm real good with computers but I'm horrible at college. I just don't see a point to learning something I already know and there's no courses with something I don't know. I'm also having a hard time looking for ANY job. Been looking for 2 years now .

I know what you mean regarding college:

I did a degree in Information Science majoring in computing.

I didn't learn anything in computing but I did teach the college professors a lot of new tricks.

So.... don't do a course in computing.

My degree was on information systems, not just computers. It also included Psychology, Marketing, Statistics, Research Methods, Indexing and Categorisation techniques etc.. I learnt a fair bit in the non-computing areas.

If you were going to do a degree, I'd suggest you do something like that.

Also, I'd suggest you go part time so that you can do more computing in a work environment (and have money to spend).

What sort of computer systems job are you looking for: Development, Admin, Management, Helpdesk, Hardware?

Where are you looking ? Employment agencies?

What sorts of excuses are you getting from them regarding jobs?
