just wanted to say hey...i just joined today i guess cause for the past year almost i've been thinking finally going to see someone, but honestly i'm shitscared...at first i thought it was the possibility of actually getting a diagnosis and then having to deal with it, as opposed to avoiding it all which is pretty much what i've been doing, but now i'm starting to think i'm also scared at the possibility that i might not actually get a diagnosis, cause i don't know what it'd feel like to know that there's nothing that can even explain or account for this weirdness i guess, if that makes any sense. soooo yea that's it, hopefully i'll find people here who've been there i guess.

Greetings mortal and welcome to the planet.

As for your feelings of fear, I don't blame you.
My mother managed to get me to go see a guy a year ago, because she had noticed that I was displaying heavy signs of being ...
Well, neurologically different.

However, the guy I went to go see was an extreme meanie, to the point where he made me burst into tears. Freak, seriously. But then he was a rich guy who was full of himself and liked to look down on autistic people as being mentally ill, sick, and stupid.

I hate his guts.

But, that doesn't matter.

Because I have a phycologist who lives with us (rents), and he says that he thought I was Aspie from the moment he met me.

Even then, it doesn't matter. He jokes with me about my little quirks. Makes it okay to be different.
Even if I'm not actually Aspie to some jerks standards.

I'm different. Regardless of the labels.
And regardless of that difference, I'm still human, and perfectly normal.

I think its more important just to accept yourself as what you are, not what other people would like to call you.

Its confusing, but in the end it shouldn't really matter so much. I am who I am, I'm different then most, but that doesn't mean I should be treated differently.
