Hi folks after years of "feeling wrong" I have just been diagnosed with AS not bad at the age of 43. Ah well at least I can start too put it all together, makes me sad though, to think that had we known all this time I might have been able to keep friendships and have a greater connection with my family, or am I just kidding myself. Anyhow lets see if knowledge can make a difference. Had a good laugh at some of the "quirky" behaviour mentioned in some of the blogs cos finally it makes sense. looking forward to getting to know you all in my disjointed way

Hi! Nice to meet you!
Btw is your name a Hitchhiker's Guide reference?

Hi DentArthurDent I was only diagnosed in my late 40s just over 1 year ago, and things are really beginning to Make Sense at last. It takes time, but opens up a whole new meaning to life.

Ah you see Im already among people who understand. Yep Aurore as greyh spotted it is indeed a HHGTTG reference. in my opinion Douglas Adams was one of the most astute and funny social commentators of the 20th century.

And an incredibly funny writer. I have never laughed out loud at a book as much as I do with the Hitchhiker books :P

yeah your right he is one of the few writers that I find myself laughing out loud too, even your reference had me reminiscing some of his classic line and having a chuckle, much better than monty python

Love the nickname! Douglas Adams was hilarious! He wrote the most wonderful satire!

Welcome to WP! :)

Hi there,

I was diagnosed this week at age 44, so I know what you mean about it all coming together. I've been reading the forums and marveling that there really are other people like me. Everytime I read about a quirk or symptom that I have too, I'm like "Are you KIDDING me? Is THAT why I do that?" 8O :D It's still a whole new world. "Welcome to the desert of the real" :D
