I am 25. I read the posts here and I relate so much. I'm not diagnosed. How would I get diagnosed? I don't feel the need to get diagnosed. Even if I was diagnosed, I wouldn't want to tell people. What's the point in seeking a diagnoses? What's the point in telling people? I have been socially awkward my whole life. I don't feel any connection to my friends. They're nice people but I just don't need the social interaction.

I live with three roommates. Yesterday one of them said that he can't stand to live with me anymore. I don't understand why. He won't say why. He just say's I'm weird. I don't understand how everything seems like it was fine and now he says I have to move out or he's moving out with one of my other roommates. I keep to myself and I keep the place clean. Ugh. I don't know what to do. I'm glad I found this place.

Hi, I'm not officially diagnosed either and see no need to be. See my intro post for more details: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt72264.html
I haven't told anyone yet either, and I will be extremely careful about whom I do tell -- people to tend to be prejudiced. I've found Wrong Planet to be extremely helpful.

Welcome! :)

Hi welcome spoke, I hope some of this information helps you on your journey...

Quote: Being diagnosed for any difference, it's not about the label no one need know, it's about true identity. Alyson Bradley

Most of us are self diagnosed at first and then its finding a professional who understands and can diagnose us. So before being diagnosed, write down as much information as you can will really help, back to when you were a child. As we get older we learn to change and adapt, does not mean we do not still have those differences, but often have to keep or learn to conceal them..

Making Sense - http://asplanet.info/index.php?option=c ... ent&task=v iew&id=83&Itemid=129
Raising Awareness of Aspergers Syndrome:
http://asplanet.info/index.php?option=c ... ent&task=v iew&id=32&Itemid=67..

This lists may help for a start:
My list of Characteristics of Children to Adolescences AS symptoms

Great test to do:
The Official Aspergers AQ TEST - Could you be on the spectrum !
http://asplanet.info/forum/index.php?topic=77.0
and others things ton read which may help:
AS Symtoms (Full Official Criteria):
http://asplanet.info/index.php?option=c ... ent&task=v iew&id=29&Itemid=63

I know only too well when first diagnosed even if you feel you know, it can be a bit of a shock, its a little like losing who you thought you were and having to find the real you all over again. It can seem quite a lonely journey at first, but happy to answer and be here for you. So if you do get diagnosed be easy on yourself for awhile, as often with acceptance comes a grieving period - but what follows is a new wonderful understanding, it really was at this point a revelation to me as every think made sense all at once.

It really is the not knowing or understanding that does cause us so much unnecessary pain and misunderstood problems. Understanding allows you to be who you always should of been

Hello there! Nice to meet you :)
I knew that I was different but couldn't understand what's the reason for this. Anyway, the doctor could tell me nothing except "it's all because it's easy for anybody to get on your nerves". But I read posts here and I don't need to be diagnosed anymore
So, join us and have a good time here! :)
