Hey, thank you for reading this!

I'm working for our Dutch schoolpaper and we have just launched an English version to get in touch with people from all over the world. I want to make an article in which I tell our students what people in foreign countries do and think about their country. I would really appreciate it if some of you could write a short story about yourself and what you think of your country. for example:

I'm Wilco, I'm 16 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I go to secondary school and hopefully I'll be going to medicine school when I'm done. I like my country, it's nice and quiet. I live in a small town where I know lots of people and have lots of friends. It rains alot though, I hate that.

If I can get a few stories from different countries it would be great.

Thanks in advance

hi, I live at the 42 parallel in the Pacific Northwest! It rains a lot here, but that is why it is not a desert, but a deep conifer forest with deep rivers and lots of irrigation and peaches and cherries and pears and haricots verts grown in the broad valleys.

I like it here because we are far away from the large cities and we use wind and water power for electricity. Off the coast on the waves are harnessed to generate power as well. We have our own ecosystem here and could easily be self sustaining if cut off from the rest of the States.
That is important these days.

I live outside New York City! We have very high population density and more shopping malls than anywhere else in the world.

I went to college/university in a much quieter area and I liked that better, even though it was hard to get around and sometimes very boring.

I am at Lat 51° 4'29.66"N - Lng 114° 9'20.86"W in N.W. Calgary Alberta on the side of the Bow Valley, so I have a great view to the S.W and can see the Canadian Olympic Park or COP as we call it here. Calgary is 46 miles or 74 km from the Rocky Mountains
Calgary is a city of just over 1 million people, and is not very aspie friendly city, people here tend to be very rude, the city has the worst transit system in Canada, so most people have to drive, which makes it smoggy. Calgary also has 2 sports teams, the CFL Stampeders and the NHL Flames, both teams or known for their poor sportsmanship and general bad attitudes, pretty much like their fans, who behave like drunken louts when ever their team loses to Alberta capital city which is Edmonton, which is home to the Edmonton Oilers and the Edmonton Eskimos, Calgary and Calgarians have suffer from a Massive Inferiority Complex because of this, which they whine and stamp their feet about. Calgary is also where Broke Back Mountain was filmed, so they get teased alot by most people from Edmonton, then they get insulted when that is bought up . Anyhow, if your visiting Alberta, Calgary sucks so visit Edmonton or any of the other towns, since there is alot more to do.

London, England

Ignoring all of its faults (Government, weather, money, anti social youths, weather, coldness, over populated, weather, illegal immagrants, money, weather), it is actually a very pretty country when the sun comes out. Granted, when it's cloudy and raining, it is flipping miserable. But during the summer, it's actually quite nice :)
