Hello From Another Mother

My 5 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with AS. She has no cognitive delays or speech impairment. In fact she is super bright and was speaking in sentences before she was 12 months old. We were not surprised by the diagnosis based on her social and emotional symptoms, but we are trying to pull together a good treatment plan with lots of OT and art therapy to help with her sensory issues. She is home schooled, so we are on our own as far as structuring her time and treatment and she is doing very well. It is nice to have found this community.

I am glad that you have found this site too.

It is much better than going to other sites that are just going to scare parents.

And if you ever need help with something this is the place to ask as well as to see about alternatives to current thinking.

PS: I hope everything goes well with your daughter.
