Hello everyone!

I'm new on the site and just want to say hi to all of you. I'm kind of just searching for like-minded (heh..) people to discuss general stuff and autism stuff too. I'm 25 fem and a freelance writer. Check my profile for more info.

I would like to discuss new researches, scientific accounts of autism as well as general "surviving" tips for everyday living. Also interested in people who has also/instead been diagnosed with epilepsy, allergy, NVD and similar stuffs.
(How it affected you? Do you rather pursue getting a diagnosed with ASD? Yes/No, Why?
Does it bother you that people misunderstand you, and vice verse?
Would you chose an NT or an ASD person for a partner? Why?
If given the choice would you rather born NT? Yes/No, Why? )

I'm also writing on the subject so every opinion is valuable.

Mostly from people (from y.23) on the higher end of the spectrum who are fully functioning and independent( just as I am)

Hello!

I was diagnosed at a younger age so I never needed to pursue it...

Sometimes it hurts, but I've learned to interacter with others pretty well I think. Other times, I am just totally oblivious to the misunderstanding.

As a partner, I don't think I'd have a preferance. I'd be able to relate to an ASD more easily, but an NT would be able to help in interacting with the rest of the world.

Be born an NT? Hell. No. I am very proud and satisfied with who I am and wouldn't change anything about me. I love myself in the non-egocentric way.

If you want to read my story I have Aspergers and many neurological differences and my 14 year old NVL ? told crosses over into Aspergers!! ! to be honest he is the same as me, labels are just the professionals over complicating things, none of us are a set of tick boxes, we are as diverse and different on the autism spectrum as those that are not. Thanks for the warm welcome

I was looking around the site to get a grip of the atmosphere of the forum, read posts etc. I'm not a big forum-chat-blog whatever fan so don't expect me to write here too much but I come back from time to time. I was content to see that the quality of the forum here on WP is way better than what I got used to.

Thanks for those who answered my questions. They weren't supposed to be too serious just some thoughts that occurred to me while dealing with the" A" subject.
